Balvenie

The Balvenie distillery in Dufftown was built in 1892 by W. and J. Grant, owners of the Glenfiddich distillery nearby.

More than a century later they are still 'sister stills', owned by the very same company that originally built them; William Grant and Sons.

Balvenie has no less than eight stills (4 wash stills and 4 spirit stills); two of them were added in 1965 and one in 1971.

	Speyside Single Malt Whisky A very special release from Balvenie that has been created to celebrate the long history of Balvenie castle, the annual rent of which was fixed at a single red rose in 1460. A final maturation of sixteen year old Balvenie in a first fill port pipe has produced a rich and fruity single malt with distinctive reddish colour.

	Balvenie Vintage Cask 1978 / Cask 2705
	Speyside Single Malt Whisky This rare single malt whisky was specially selected by Malt Master David C Stewart from Balvenie's limited ancient reserve stocks. Hand bottled from single cask no. 2705 which had laid undisturbed since 11th March 1978. Filled 12th February 2009, this single cask bottling is one of a limited edtition of 176 bottles.
