Spirit of Freedom 45 Plus
This week, J & A Mitchell & Co Ltd (owners of Springbank distillery) released a new blended Scotch whisky, bottled "to show recognition for the ever increasing support for independence". Following on from the previous Spirit of Freedom bottling (selling out very quick) 'Spirit of Freedom 45' plus is a blended Scotch whisky containing 45 + different Scotch whiskies from across Scotland. Here's the official tasting notes...
Nose: Malty, creamy, vanilla and buttery with hints of marzipan. Then dried apricots and muesli.
Palate: Dried fruits, dates and lime cordial. Heather and parma-violets.
Finish: Subtle hints of peat smoke come through towards the end, finishing with a long malty, honey sweetness.
