Founded in 1819, Brora distillery was originally known as Clynelish. In 1967 a new distillery was built under the same name and in the late 1960's the distillery was renamed as 'Brora' and began to produce an exceptional Islay style of malt.
With the distillery falling silent in 1983, the buildings that were used during their production are now the new Clynelish visitor centre and warehouse with Clynelish remaining active to this day.
