A delightful single malt Ardmore, distilled in 2009 and matured in an ex-Islay barrel until 2022, then released as part of the Summer Collection 2022 by Berry Brothers & Rudd. Matured for 13 years, only 222 bottles were filled from cask #709322 at 55.3% vol. A lovely Highland dram from a fantastic distillery, that should be explored by more as it's a bit of a hidden treasure.

Nose
This Highland whisky’s aroma is an earthy mix of smoked haddock, hessian, wet sand and gravel.
Palate
The palate is complex; opening with coffee, dark chocolate before the expected smoked barley, cullen skink and peat smoke come through.
Finish
A lingering finish offers more smoke and earth as the mouth-coating distillate slowly ebbs away. Few distilleries have a character as uniquely recognisable as Ardmore.
