Following on from the 2014 release of Springbank 12 year old Green, matured in bourbon casks, Springbank distillery have followed this up in 2015 with a 13 year old Campbeltown malt, which has been fully matured in sherry casks. Again, like the previous release, this Springbank whisky has been produced using organic barley and bottled at 46% vol.
Tasting Notes
Springbank 13 Year Old Green Sherry Cask Tasting Notes
Nose: Sweet cereal notes are accompanied with raisin butter, apple crumble, kiwi fruit and turkish delight.
Palate: The palate is fruity with raisins and orange zest to the fore. Marzipan, vanilla and soft sherry notes are also present.
Finish: A long, medium dry finish with classic Springbank sweet salty notes, along with hints of bung cloth and fig rolls.
