Established in 1955 Karuizawa Distillery sits on the foothills of Mt.Asama, an active volcano and popular mountain resort. Karuizawa is also the highest distillery in Japan sitting at 850 meters above sea level.

Karuizawa Distillery produces a very high quality malt, as the environment which its situated is almost perfect with low temperatures and high humidity. A small scale and very traditional production that has won gold medals at IWSC ans ISC tasting competitions.
