Single Cask Whisky

A single cask whisky is exactly that, one cask of whisky where the bottles filled only contain the whisky that has been matured in the same cask.

Single Cask Barrels are very unique as wood is a living material, maturation may vary considerably from one cask to another making the whisky from every cask unique and unrepeatable.

It’s amazing to think that 2 casks made from the same tree, filled with the same batch of spirit, sitting beside each other in the same warehouse for the same period of ageing can taste completely different! That’s what makes single cask whisky so unique and special.

	Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky Bunnahabhain 1989, single cask 5755 bottled in 2012 by wine & spirit merchant Berry Bros & Rudd. A superb dram that sold out within a few week of being launched. Bunnahabhain single cask 5755 featured on The Whisky Wire's #BerrysWhisky Tweet Tasting and was highly praised by bloggers and tasters on the evening. We've managed to source a few extra bottles of this lovely, smokey, peated Bunnahabhain. But dont hang around for long if you are looking to secure a bottle, its a stunning dram.

	Bruichladdich 1970 Valinch / 30 Year Old
	Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky A very special Bruichladdich, bottled to celebrate the first distilliation for the re-opening of the distillery back in May 2001. Bottled at 47.3% vol, the bottle is hand signed by Master Distiller Jim McEwan, and has the words 'I Was There' on the label. A 30 year old Islay whisky, one of only 250 bottles released.

	Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky Bruichladdich Islay Barley was distilled in 2004 from Barley grown on Kentraw Farm, and is the first Islay grown barley to be distilled in recent times. Left to mature in sherry butt 1667, this bottling was one of 1060 bottles released at the 'Laddie Festival' during the Islay Festival Of Music & Malt 2010 (Feis Ile). Bottled at 57.5% Vol.

	Highland Single Malt Whisky Distillery Manager's Choice 1981, a very special bottling that was hand picked by the distillery manager of Glenmorangie. Laid to rest on the 14th May 1981 and left to mature for 17 long years before being filled on the 24th March 1998 at cask strength with only 322 bottles filled.
