Character Notes by Dave Broom
A dark narcotic boils. Globs of pitch, a pine forest reduced. The cauldron erupts, spitting black lava. Stir in the wormwood and camphor, trailing oak moss, and sphagnum soaked with soldiers’ blood. Now drink this tarry opiate, this entry to a chthonic world.
Released as part of the Macbeth series from Livingstone, that feature illustrations by Sir Quentin Blake and character descriptions for the whiskies by Dave Broom.

Our Second Witch hails from Islay’s south coast, and encapsulates all the medicinal quality which this iconic malt is known for.
Palate
The marriage between charcoal smoke, rich vanilla and brooding dark dried fruit speaks to the marriage of both bourbon and sherry casks and the wonderful darkness you can find from the long maturation of Islay’s traditional medicine.
