Another stunning and very rare single malt release from independent Scotch whisky bottlers Gordon & MacPhail. This 1985 vintage Strathisla was distilled Friday 14th June 1985 and matured in a refill bourbon barrel for 35 years before being bottled Tuesday 27th April 2021. Only 104 bottles filled from single cask 1482 at 57.8% vol and released as part of the excellent Private Collection.

Tasting Notes
Strathisla 1985 Cask 1482 Private Collection Producer Notes
Colour: Dark gold.
Aroma: Ripe red apple aromas combine with butterscotch and Seville orange peel. Subtle dried tobacco notes come to the fore alongside banana and a hint of white chocolate.
Taste: Flavours of vibrant citrus zest give way to rich vanilla pod, balanced by mature oak. Cocoa powder comes to the fore accompanied by demerara sugar and tropical fruit.
Finish: A medium-bodied finish of lingering lemon peel and subtle white pepper.
