The mystery returns. Introducing Batch 5, a 12 year old single malt bottled exclusively by Abbey Whisky and the latest chapter in our quietly cult favourite Anon. series. As always, the distillery name remains undisclosed but those with a curious palate and a keen sense for provenance may find subtle clues tucked away. Matured in a refill sherry butt, this limited release offers balance, depth, and plenty of character, all without the distraction of branding or hype. Once again, Anon reminds us that what matters most is what’s in the glass!!
Very limited stock available, when it’s gone, it’s gone!
Tasting Notes
Awards
Nose
Coastal smoke and smouldering embers, softened by rich aromas of dried figs and treacle. Beneath the peat, notes of cured meats, leather, and cracked black pepper, dark chocolate nibs, sultanas, and a touch of briny sea air.
Palate
Earthy peat smoke, followed by spiced fruitcake, roasted nuts, and espresso. Sweetness in the background, dates, plums, possibly cherry. Lovely salted liquorice, burnt orange peel, and hints of clove and cinnamon.
Finish
Long, warming, and smoky. Lingering notes of bonfire ash and dried fruit fade into spiced oak, leather, and a maritime salinity that pulls you back in for more.
