The Second Murderer is one of four island whiskies in The Murderers series, with this 17 year old single malt from Jura distillery chosen as the latest 'murderous whisky'. Matured in Oloroso sherry hogsheads this special release was bottled at 48.5% vol.
Character Notes by Dave Broom
A thin flame rises from damp wood. The smell of wet wool and a sodden autumn’s bracken. Seed cake crumbs fleck the thin rags. A sharp profile in cold moonlight, the smoke clings to the sallow flesh. There can be no mercy.
Released as part of the Macbeth series from Livingstone, that feature illustrations by Sir Quentin Blake and character descriptions for the whiskies by Dave Broom.

Nose
For some years now, this distillery on the Isle of Jura has been producing peated malt and this richly smoky character has been tempered in oloroso sherry hogsheads, complimenting the oily spirit with sandalwood and an amaro-style herbaceousness.
Palate
The peat smoke itself is linear and cutting, while the cask profile has created a backdrop for our second murderous whisky.
