A beautiful old style bottling of Glenfarclas, which was bottled for Germany in 2007. All 5 quarter casks used create this special bottling were distilled in 1987.
Quarter casks can hold approximately 125 litres of spirit and due to the size of the cask the whisky matures faster as more of the liquid is in contact with the oak. Called a quarter cask as they contain a quarter of the volume held within a traditional sherry butt (500 litres).
