Burnside 14 Year Old - 2011 | Port Cask 900018 | Woodrow's of Edinburgh
Part of a special comparative release from Woodrow’s of Edinburgh, this Burnside 14 Year Old, a teaspooned Balvenie was re-racked for secondary maturation in a 1st fill Ruby Port hogshead, alongside sister cask #900019 (Tawny Port). Distilled in 2011 and bottled at 52.0% vol, this single malt spent three years developing its rich colour and flavour under the influence of vibrant Ruby Port wood. Expect a brighter, fruit-forward profile, think red berries, plum and spice, balanced by Burnside’s elegant Speyside spirit.
One of just 292 bottles, non-chill filtered and natural in colour. A fascinating chance to explore how Port cask type shapes character when all other variables align.
