The latest release in Glengoyne’s much loved Teapot Dram series, Batch No. 11 is drawn from nine first fill sherry casks, a combination of butts and hogsheads and bottled at a robust 59.7% ABV. The series itself nods to a long standing distillery tradition, where surplus drams from younger workers were poured into a shared copper teapot for others to enjoy, a practice that ran through the 1960s and early 1970s. Today, that spirit lives on in these rich, sherry led small batch releases. This latest batch continues the style the series is known for, full bodied, sherry matured and bottled at natural strength, without chill filtration or added colour.
