Following on from last year’s release, this limited edition Lochlea 7 Year Old marks the distillery’s third and oldest age statement to date. An annual release, it represents another important milestone in Lochlea’s maturing stock. This expression has been matured exclusively in seven hand selected first fill bourbon casks, all filled in 2018 and aged in Lochlea’s traditional dunnage warehouses. Bottled at 50% ABV, it is presented non-chill filtered and with natural colour, staying true to the distillery’s commitment to transparency and provenance.
As with previous age statement releases, Lochlea has provided full detail on the individual casks used to create this whisky, offering a clear insight into how the final marriage was composed.
Cask breakdown:
Cask No. 99 – First fill bourbon – sweet pineapple tarts
Cask No. 103 – First fill bourbon – sweet, creamy, fruity
Cask No. 104 – First fill bourbon – juicy, tropical fruits
