Bottled by Glasgow based independent bottlers Glaschu Spirits Co, this limited release of just 365 bottles was distilled at Tobermory distillery in 2014. Known as Peallach (’pyal-akh’), the name is used as a pseudonym for Ledaig, the heavily peated spirit produced at Tobermory Distillery on the Isle of Mull. This single malt spent 9 years in a refill bourbon barrel before an 8 month finishing period in a first fill Pedro Ximénez sherry barrique sourced from the renowned Ximénez-Spínola bodega in Jerez, Spain. Bottled in July 2025 at 50% ABV, it brings together the bold, coastal peat of Ledaig with the rich sweetness of sherry wood.
The label artwork captures the charm of Tobermory’s colourful harbour, with the distillery in view, while a Boeing Stearman bi-plane approaches the bay, an image inspired by a similar aircraft that resides at the island’s only airfield, Glenforsa.
