Two Campbeltown malts from the same stable. Springbank and Kilkerran are both made under J&A Mitchell. Springbank at the distillery the family has run since 1828, Kilkerran at neighbouring Glengyle and pairing them sets the two sides of the region's character side by side. Springbank 15 Year Old is matured predominantly in Oloroso sherry casks and bottled at 46%, non-chill-filtered and natural in colour: rich and dark-fruited, with the briny, lightly peated backbone that runs through the core range. Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 14 is the counterweight, Glengyle's spirit pushed into heavy smoke [58.3%/ 90% bourbon and 10% sherry]. Sherry and peat, two distilleries, one family at the foot of Kintyre.
