Distilled in 1990 and matured for 35 years in a single refill hogshead, this well aged Caol Ila has been bottled at natural cask strength, 44.5% ABV, with 226 bottles drawn from the cask. A beautiful cask, showing a more subtle and fruitier style than many similarly aged Caol Ila, with something of an 'older school 1970s' character running through it. A fine example of mature Islay whisky and a particularly elegant take on well aged Caol Ila.
