A beautifully mature Speyside single malt and a standout release in the Whiskyland series. Distilled in 1989 and matured for its entire life in a refill hogshead, this 36 year old Cragganmore was bottled at 51.9% ABV, with just 126 bottles released. Luxuriously waxy and warming, it unfolds with layers of beeswax and honey, followed by notes of pine resin, camphor and gentle mineral oil, all underpinned by a subtle leathery depth. Elegant, composed and deeply expressive, it’s a superb example of well aged Speyside malt handled with restraint and confidence.
A whisky that rewards time and attention, and one that perfectly captures the tactile, old-school character Whiskyland does so well.
