Distilled in 1990 and bottled at 35 years old, this Pittyvaich is a single cask release from a 1st fill sherry hogshead, bottled at natural cask strength. A beautifully mature Speyside malt, showing a more old school style, with the sherry cask bringing depth without overwhelming the spirit. The slightly lower bottling strength works well here, keeping everything approachable and well balanced, with layers of jammy fruits, honeyed sweetness and a subtle herbal edge carrying through the finish. An elegant and highly drinkable example of long-aged sherried whisky.
