This Inaugural Release from Aberargie Distillery marks the first spirit from the distillery to reach maturity. Distilled, matured and bottled entirely on site, a carefully considered first release, it reflects the distillery’s approach to traditional methods, local provenance and thoughtful cask selection. The whisky is built around the key elements that define Aberargie’s house style. Made using 100% farm-grown barley, the recipe combines 52% Golden Promise and 48% Laurette barley, bringing together the richness and texture of Golden Promise with the balance and clarity of Laurette. Maturation has taken place exclusively in first fill casks, with an even split between first fill bourbon barrels and first fill sherry casks. The bourbon casks are sourced directly from the United States and shipped whole, while the Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks are obtained directly from Miquel Martin, also transported whole to preserve their full character.
