Think we're in for a bit of a treat with this latest Island release from Elixir Distillers. Distilled at a secret distillery on Orkney, this 11 year old single malt spent time maturing in Oloroso sherry butts. Distilled in 2012 and created from three casks, this Orcadian distillery is well known for its distinctive heather-like peat smoke, creating a rich and characterful single malt. Released as part of the eleventh parcel of malts from The Single Malts of Scotland, Reserve Casks series.

Nose
Dark chocolate kirsch cherries with fresh ginger and star anise.
Palate
Heady and dense with flavours of lebkuchen, walnuts and whisky soaked sultanas. A gentle heather smoke adds to the depth.
Finish
Warming with more of the chocolate and ginger with a touch of citrus.
