The GlenAllachie Sinteis Series Part III continues the distillery’s exploration of creative cask combinations. ‘Sinteis’ (pronounced sin-teesh), meaning ‘synthesis’ in Scottish Gaelic, represents the coming together of two distinctive cask types to create a single, harmonious whisky.
For this release, GlenAllachie has combined spirit matured in French virgin oak casks with whisky drawn from Oloroso sherry casks. The French oak, crafted from Limousin oak sourced from the forests of central France, is known for its wide grain structure which allows deeper interaction between spirit and wood. Air-dried for 15 months before use, it brings layers of honey, orange peel and gentle spice, alongside subtle earthy notes. These vibrant characteristics are complemented by the influence of Oloroso sherry casks, a dark, dry style of sherry matured without a flor yeast layer and renowned for its nutty depth and rich dried fruit character.
Bottled at a robust 57.4% ABV, non-chill filtered and with no added colour
