The seventh batch of Heavily Peated single malt from Glengyle distillery, Campbeltown. Released in 2022, this latest batch has been created from ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks then bottled at 59.1% vol.
Tasting Notes
Awards
Nose
Fresh on the nose, reminiscent of morning dew, pine forest and damp gooseberry bushes, with a hemp, vegetal note developing over time.
Palate
The peat comes to the forefront in the palate with a characteristic sweetness detected in notes of toasted marshmallows and s’mores, along with hints of lemon drizzle cake and shortbread.
Finish
The finish sees the continuation of the sweet peat influence and the introduction of a salty note and hints of burnt pretzels and fresh green apples.
