A rather rare and beautifully presented single malt from Mortlach distillery, released by Gordon & MacPhail for the Private Collection. Distilled February 1978 then laid to rest in a refill American hogshead for 43 years, single cask 996 was then decanted and filled to bottle towards the end of 2021. Only 99 bottles of this delightful dram have been bottled for this very rare release.

Sweet Seville orange aromas complement fragrant pineapple alongside a hint of preserved quince. Crystallised violet notes develop alongside lime, hazelnuts and black pepper.
Palate
Ripe red apples intertwine with dark honey and subtle ginger. Rich exotic fruit flavours give way to a faint herbal edge.
Finish
Full and lightly spiced with lasting citrus and aniseed.
