A rare release from the lost Speyside distillery Imperial, bottled by Decadent Drinks as part of their Whiskyland series. Distilled in 1997 and matured for 27 years in a refill barrel, this well aged single malt was bottled at natural cask strength, 49.8% ABV. Imperial’s spirit has long been prized for its waxy texture and understated elegance, qualities that come through clearly here after nearly three decades in cask. There’s a quiet confidence to this whisky, shaped by time rather than wood and reflective of a distillery style that can no longer be replicated.
