WM Cadenhead, Scotland oldest Independent Scotch whisky bottler, is known for releasing some great drams. This latest release is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Aberfeldy distillery, distilled in 1997 and aged for 19 years. A small batch release, created from two bourbon hogsheads, 528 bottles filled in 2016 at cask strength, 55.4%.

Aberfeldy 19 Year Old - 1997 | Abbey Whisky Tasting Notes

Appearance: Very pale! White wine, if that.

Nose: Grassy, elderflowers, with delicate traces of green apple. Straw-like and creamy, with echoes of new make spirit.

Palate: Creamy, slightly waxy, with traces of cinnamon and light floral honey. Grassy, with some sharp grapefruit sourness to balance.

Finish: Medium length, with grapefruit and pepper.


Aberfeldy 19 Year Old - 1997 | Small Batch Producer Tasting Notes

Nose: Sweet honeycomb, very creamy and milky with cinnamon.

Palate: Spicy note, lemon meringue, apricots, syrup, lime and spiced apple.

Finish: Lemon zest, lime juice, milk chews and apple crumble.
