Tasting Notes
Bunnahabhain 18 Year Old Cask 1253 Producer Notes
Nose: A fruitcake aroma appears at first, marrying with notes of clementine peel and orange bitters. The delicate kick of clove appears as a spicy aside, soaked in rich, dark sherry.
Palate: Chocolate orange is layered with fresh pine needles and a prickle of cardamom spice. The dried fruit and citrus character are accentuated by a few drops of water: Cognac and mandarin develop along with a gently oaky character.
Finish: A long finish which gently progresses from rich Scottish ale to the earthiness of walnuts. Sweet gingerbread and dried figs appear as a final nod to the sherry butt.
