Caperdonich Batch 3 Official Tasting Notes
Nose: The nose is heathery initially with a charcoal smokiness seeping through with a hint of nutmeg following. Beyond this there are notes of stewing orchard fruits, butterscotch and soft calve's leather.
Palate: The palate is medium-bodied with sooty charcoal notes, menthol and apple sauce. Then a deeper character of raisins, grapes and home-made rhubarb crumble emerge with a scattering of cinnamon.
Finish: Green grapes, mint and gentle peat smoke form a long and lingering finish that develops a warm spicy character as it progresses.
Overall: A complex dram with warm fruit and spice notes, leading to that classic charcoal smokiness with a hint of menthol. Just stunning.
