The eleventh instalment from the Elements of Islay Cl range has been finished for 18 months in two ex-solera sherry butts! Distilled in 2008, bottled at full proof, 55.4% vol - sounds absolutely delightful!
Tasting Notes
Cl11 Elements of Islay Producer Tasting Notes
Nose: Dusty dark chocolate, charcoal smoke and buttered currants. Winter-punch spice is balanced by fresher, greener notes of nettle and elderflower.
Palate: Mouth coating and dense, with rich Morello cherries in a thick sweet sauce – the perfect balance of sweet and sour. The peat is herbaceous, reminiscent of aged Chartreuse, and is followed by notes of bitter chocolate.
Finish: Cocoa nibs and Arbroath smokies linger.
