The label on this Clynelish shows a trio of cats with the mother cat scolding a ginger tom (Clynelish), telling him she'd prefer him to be more like his older brother (Brora). Clynelish distillery often plays second fiddle, and some say unfarily to the now-silent, nearby distillery Brora.

Nose: Gingerbread and spice, with hints of sea air and citrus. Oily and very fruity with hints of dried apricots and peaches.
Palate: Thick, oily palate with a sherried, malty core. Sultanas and cinnamon, a little toasted oak and dried herbs.
Finish: Very spicy, fruity finish with a hint of wood smoke trailing off over notes of allspice and toffee.
Overall: Intense, full of fruit and spice. A real gem...
