An old and rare single malt from Glenglassaugh distillery, independently bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for the Connoisseurs Choice series. Distilled 3rd December 1986 and matured in single cask 1427 for 31 years, then bottled Tuesday 3rd July 2018 at full cask strength, 52% vol. Only 141 bottles of this rare Highland malt have been filled and housed beautifully in wooden presentation box.
Tasting Notes
Glenglassaugh 31 Year Old - 1986 | Connoisseurs Choice - Producer Notes
Aroma - Bright summer dram; flowering gorse and honeysuckle laced with vibrant lemon and lime aromas. Candied tropical fruit and baked apple add depth.
Taste - Balanced; warming white pepper combines with thick vanilla cream and nutmeg. Flavours of dark chocolate truffle filled with a passion fruit coulis come to the fore; hints of fresh tea leaves linger.
Finish - Charred oak lingers with a chocolate covered turkish delight edge.
