Gordon & MacPhail 125th Anniversary Editions - 'Last Cask' Full Set
This stunning set of drams was released to commemorate the 125th anniversary of independent Scotch whisky bottlers, Gordon & MacPhail. Each release is incredibly old and rare and is said to be from the last cask held at the famous Gordon & MacPhail warehouses.
This set contains 1 x 70cl bottle of the following.
Coleburn 1972 - The first release in the series was distilled at Coleburn distillery in 1972 and matured in a refill sherry puncheon for 47 years. 363 bottles from single cask 3511, bottled at an impressive 62.4% vol. Coleburn distillery was closed in 1985 and its distilling license was cancelled in 1992.
Glenury Royal 1984 - The second release is a 1984 vintage Glenury Royal, distilled in 1984 and was matured in a first fill sherry butt for 35 years. Bottled in 2010, only 397 bottles were filled from single cask #2335 at 49.1% vol. Glenury Royal was sadly closed in 1985, making this another very special and rare release.
Mosstowie 1979 - The third release was distilled in 1979 at the Miltonduff distillery using Lomond stills, this single malt Mosstowie spent 40 years maturing in refill sherry cask #20323. Production sadly ceased in 1981, only 164 bottles of this rare single malt have been filled from the very last cask of Mosstowie to remain at the famous Gordon & MacPhail warehouses.
Glenburgie 1975 - The fourth release was distilled at the Glenburgie distillery in 1975 and matured in a refill American hogshead for 44 years. Only 110 bottles from single cask 9686, bottled at 54.2% vol.
