The Friar John Cor series continues with this the third release in this magnificent story from Lindores Abbey distillery. The Friar John Cor Chapter 3 has been crafted from Lowland single malt matured in a combination of ex-bourbon barrels, Amontillado and Pedro Ximénez sherry butts. After vatting the whisky spent time back in those sherry butts to marry perfectly together. Bottled at natural cask strength, without additional colouring or chill-filtration.
This latest limited edition release from Lindores Abbey distillery was released in celebration of Friar John Cor, who in 1494 was commissioned by King James IV to turn 8 bolls of malt into Aqua Vitae, which is said to be the earliest known written reference to the production of what we now call whisky!
