Originally released for the travel retail market, Octomore 10.2 was distilled using Scottish grown Optic and Oxbridge barley in 2010 from the 2009 harvest. A heavily peated Islay malt (96.9 PPM) initially matured in first fill ex-American whiskey casks for 4 years, then transferred and matured for a further 4 years in casks that previously held sweet Sauternes wine from France. A delightful dram from Bruichladdich, bottled in 2019 at cask strength, 56.9% vol.
