Released as part of the Legacy Series this 2022 Shenk's Homestead release honours the legacy of the original founder of Michter's distillery, John Shenk. The Michter's we now know was originally founded in 1753 as Shenk's distillery, it was later renamed to Bomberger's in the 1800's then once again changed to Michter's Distillery in the 20th century. This very rare release has been been made using the traditional sour mash process with this Shenk's release containing a substantial amount of rye with a portion of the whiskey matured in special toasted French oak barrels made from 24 month air dried wood.
